Lorena Sarbu’s presentation was Sunday morning on February 12. What a first show to come to on a sleepy and VERY chilly morning!!! Everything sparkled and the jewel-toned gowns were reminiscent of a fairytale ball.

Bold: Cocktail dresses and gowns can get a bit boring from time to time. Seeing the same old fishtail on the same old black gown can make you jaded. What I love about Lorena Sarbu is that she can take that tired old fishtail and turn it on its nose so now, you don’t know what is up or down, i.e. that green plunge neck fishtail sequin gown! Crazy! Any other gowns any of you might want to buy for a VERY special occasion or buy your significant other?

Evening Wear: Don’t want to beat a dead horse, but obviously Lorena Sarbu can design beautiful evening wear. Nuff said.

Improvements: While I love that little bit of extra sparkle in everything, I wish Lorena could design a really beautiful simple and elegant jersey piece. Something with an odd cut but so chic that you don’t notice that it’s odd. Is that possible? I feel Prabal Gurung is one of the few designers that have mastered this technique. Not everyone has to be Prabal but I would like to see an attempt.

Anyway, Lorena Sarbu…Fabulous. Nothing more to say there.
