I had the great pleasure of seeing the Lela Rose 2012 Fall collection on Sunday February 12. Somehow I was able to sit second row and grab a fantastic recording. You can check out all my videos of fashion shows from the Youtube channel: 2kooldancin.
Well all I have to say about this show is…where can I buy this? Or can I have these clothes for free? lol
Bold: The brilliance, and I do mean brilliance, of Lela Rose’s collection is the bright festive colors. I love that she made mustard bright and fresh and not the same old dreary mustard. She incorporated orange and yellow and fuchsia into her palette without forcing it. I loved every bit of it.
Geometry: A new trend that I’m starting to recognize is geometric shapes in clothing! More and more clothes on the runway are not only cut angular but also have geometrical shapes instilled in them. I love geometrical shapes. When I was younger and would doodle on my notebook in class thinking when would I ever use proofs again in my life, I would create connecting triangles, zig zags, squares, cylinders and what ever else I could think of.
Improvements: Well my reviews are going to start to get boring since all of my improvements columns so far have been nothing but raves! But yet again, I have to rave about Lela Rose’s Fall 12 collection. There is not one item I wouldn’t love to wear. All of the colors look amazing with my skin tone. So maybe that’s something I can critique, unfortunately, not all colors look good on everyone so not everyone could wear Lela Rose’s collection, though I wouldn’t blame them if they tried!
